Boris

Boris

Boris was rescued off the kill list just in the nick of time.  He currently resides in Washington State with his foster-to-adopt pawrents (adoption pending resolution of some behavioral issues having to do with his reactivity to cats that run away).

This sweet boy is around 75 lbs of German Shepherd-ness.  He loves people (strangers included!) and tolerates other dogs.  Per his foster family, he is the perfect boy and is the sweetest most loving dog.  He is smart and responds extremely well to training.  He does resource-guard towards other dogs, but not towards his hoomans.

Boris does have severe separation anxiety, and he is one heck of an escape artist when he wants to go find his people.  He has broken out of a plastic crate, has jumped a 8-feet plexiglass enclosure, and can open hooman doors (L-handle doors; he doesn’t have thumbs for doorknobs, lol) – all to try and find his hooman!  He also has very high prey drive for things that dart/run away.  His foster mom is currently working on all these things with him with the help of a trainer who specializes in GSDs.

What does this mean?  Impact Crates and crate training to save the day!
