Bubba (aka Carl) was pulled by our rescue from a high-kill shelter in Southern California on May 2022. The shelter estimated Bubba’s age at around 9 years old – our veterinarian agrees. So why “Bubba aka Carl”? We originally named him Carl after a loved character in the animated film “UP” – however during time with his foster mom, she lovingly called him “Bubba” and now that is the only name he responds to, lol.
Bubba is the calmest and sweetest pup; he is dog-friendly and will play with other dogs. He has a unique scar on his left eyebrow which gives him a curious but serious look. Typical of most doberpups, he loves attention from people. Whenever at the vet’s, he can be seen walking around the lobby and putting his head onto random people’s laps to ask for pets.
Bubba is missing two canine teeth (adorably so), and is just an old and happy pup. However, during his time with the rescue, Bubba was diagnosed with heart disease and possible testicular masses (but cannot be neutered yet due to his heart issue). Therefore, we made a decision to keep him with our rescue to continue further treatment, and to live out his golden years in a stable loving home with one of our board members.
